The Trust and Safety(TnS) engineering team is responsible for protecting our users from harmful content and abusive behaviors. With the continuous efforts of our trust and safety engineering team, TikTok can provide the best user experience and bring joy to everyone in the world. Our team is responsible for achieving goals by building content moderation process systems, rule engine, strategy systems, feature engine, human moderation platforms, risk insight systems and all kinds of supportive platforms across TnS organization.

Responsibilities - What You'II Do

- Aligning with TnS Technical objectives, coordinating with TnS experts, machine learning engineers, and other cross-functional teams on delivering key results;

- Designing and improving system design and architecture to ensure high stability and performance of the services. Participate in the development of core modules and technical supervision.

- Taking owner role of business systems and keep improving them;

- Leading technical roadmap and decisions on projects among the product;

- Driving technical projects and medium-sized XFN team to archive business goal;

- Help Tiktok's product teams design safety and abuse resistance into new products from the beginning.



- Bachelor or higher degree in computer science or a related technical discipline;

- 2+ years of tech-leading a software engineer team, 5+ years of large-scale backend system development experience;

- Have the ability to design and govern complex system architectures, able to reasonably abstract and decompose complex business logic, strong in logical analysis and abstract thinking abilities, and good at summarizing;

- Strong communication and teamwork skills;

- Experience in moderation or risk control system design and implementation is preferred.

【BC - For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is CAD$ 148960- CAD$ 333000 annually.​

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​

The compensation for this position is based on a monthly compensation structure. The range specified is the expected annual compensation for a person in this position.​
