Sr. Director, Total Rewards & People Operations

Remote Vancouver, BC

Reporting to our Chief People Officer, you will play a critical role, focusing on delivering operational excellence on a day-to-day basis and building a scalable, sustainable and efficient set of HR programs and services. You will lead a broad scope of Total Rewards and People Operations activities. This includes compensation, benefits, policy management, compliance, HR Operations, people analytics and HRIS. You will be part of the HR leadership team, partnering with a head of HR Business Partnering & Learning and a head of Talent Acquisition.

What you'll be doing...

  • Own the development, implementation, and evolution of core programs in the employee lifecycle for seamless employee experience across benefits, onboarding and offboarding, including immigration and compliance practices and broader HR policies
  • Direct our compensation programs and practices, including annual planning, market reviews, job architecture and our review processes. 
  • Provide operational and technology support and analyses for compensation, benefits, performance management, engagement, and recruiting
  • Evaluate and effectively manage relationships with benefit providers and HR technology vendors
  • Manage and optimize our overall HR funciton spend
  • Accountable for global HR system data integrity, reporting and analytics
  • Recommend and implement innovative processes across the HR organization, serving as project manager for all initiatives involving HR Policies, HR data, systems and implementation of platforms
  • Review and adapt the service delivery structure to meet changing business needs (ie – some programs delivered centrally and some through HR business partners, talent acquisition teams or local HR teams)
  • Manage employment practices, policies and recordkeeping including implementing adequate processes and audits, in compliance with recent employment law updates (ie - national/local laws, COVID-19 updates, new hire notification requirements, labor laws, unemployment claims, records retention policies, etc)
  • Be the center of our cross-functional relationships with Payroll, Finance, IT, Legal, Talent Acquisition and other stakeholders to drive the effective delivery of HR programs and services.


What you'll bring to the table...

  • Relevant experience in Business, Human Resources Management, Finance, or related field
  • Design and operational management experience in compensation, benefits, and HR systems.
  • You can lead the implementation, communication and management of compensation and benefits programs
  • Financial accumen and experience using data-driven approaches to identify and implement program and policy decisions
  • Outcome-focused, non-bureaucratic, and collaborative leadership style (looking for someone who is informed, not constrained by the traditional definitions of the HR function)
  • Experience working in a global / multi-country environment and distributed workforce
  • Curiosity around new HR Operations and HR Technology trends and how those practices unlock growth and business success
  • High-energy style and a hands-on work ethic with a passion for managing the details within a growing business
  • Professional credibility that influences others and stimulates confidence across the organization
  • A humble, approachable style that encourages people in the organization to come for advice while balancing the best interests of the company and our employees
