Site Reliability Specialist

$80,652.20 - $91,992.70 annually plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment

 

The Information Systems Branch (ISB) provides strategic IM/IT leadership for the Justice and Public Safety Sector and IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders.


The Site Reliability Specialist monitors services such as Splunk and Site Scope for the Justice Sector. This role will participate in adopting and creating roadmaps for automation tooling such as Ansible, Jenkins and Azure-DevOps. As the Site Reliability Specialist, you will ensure that applications and services are monitored while supporting the delivery demand of DevOps.


Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science or related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience analyzing and troubleshooting systems, monitoring availability, and practicing complete view of system health, maintenance, and reliability.
  • Experience with providing guidance and implementing infrastructure solution to reduce the workload by automation.
  • Experience with API development and integration and continuous development environments.
  • Experience with Pipeline management using tools like Jenkins and similar continuous integration technologies.
  • Experience with Version control technologies such as subversion and Git and development in an open source environment.
  • Experience implementing "Infrastructure as Code" using tools like Terraform and Ansible for leveraging GitOps approaches for automating infrastructure.
  • Experience working with metrics and monitoring technology such as Splunk or Sysdig.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals (e.g., filesystems, system calls), and with networking (e.g., routing, ESDN) or cloud systems.
  • Experience with J2EE Web development and applications, including Oracle and Postgres.
