Senior Manager, Salesforce Engineering

As a Senior Manager, Salesforce Engineering you specialize in leading the design, development and support for all applications built on the Salesforce platforms across our global team. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven, seasoned technical leader to help grow and lead a team of individuals who design innovative ways to accelerate the growth of our business.


Salesforce is a foundational application platform underpinning numerous critical applications ranging from powering elements of or Guest Services, ReBIRD and Digital Marketing CRM, Infrastructure and Data & Analytics. As such, this role will require a leader who is able to interact with critical business units and is laser focused on service delivery excellence for all services dependent upon Salesforce.


This critical leadership position will not only require deep technical acumen, but the successful candidate will also be challenged with leading Arc’teryx’s transition from a reliance on external development and support partnerships, to developing an internal Salesforce Center of Excellence. Connections to a trusted community of skilled resources and experience in assembling an internal team are highly valued.


This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.


Meet Your Future Team:


You will be leading a small and collaborative team that works with many departments across Arc’teryx. We value learning and growth and strive to deliver the best solutions to the teams using Salesforce and other application systems.


The Salesforce applications team is responsible for building and maintaining our CRM. The team is organized into squads that include other developers, Administrators, Quality Analysts, Business Analysts and Project Managers. Salesforce Developers work closely and collaboratively with many other teams including Infrastructure, Guest Services, ReBIRD, Marketing, and Data & Analytics.


If you were the Senior Manager, Salesforce Engineering role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:


  • You will set strategic direction for the Salesforce technologies used by the application team, and be accountable for overseeing the overall quality execution of technology across all project squads
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of capability and capacity across both internal Salesforce teams as well as key partners
  • Adjudicate resource engagement options to deliver in a timely fashion, with high quality and low risk
  • Represent the team and remove hurdles to enable each team member to operate at the highest level of efficiency and productivity

  • Maintain a well understood and governed DevOps process
  • Scrutinize code deliverables to ensure consistency in approach and adherence to architecture principles
  • Maintain the personal technical expertise such that you can augment the team and provide hands on development or QA support when required
  • Evolve monitoring systems to become more predictive and less reactive
  • Publish and maintain excellent documentation targeted at end users, support resources and technical teams
  • Recruit, grow, nurture, and retain team members, while fostering an enjoyable work environment
  • Foster an environment of continuous learning
  • Ensure our customers achieve their strategic objectives through the proper technology systems architecture
  • Lead and conduct analysis, design, planning, and implementation, using a comprehensive approach for the successful development and execution of strategy
  • Drive best practices, process, and enablement for Salesforce core offerings from a technical perspective while collaborating with our internal facing clients, the business teams


Are you our next Senior Manager, Salesforce Engineering?


  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • You have 8+ years of experience with Salesforce platform. Must specialize in Service, Experience, Einstein, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud and Marketing Cloud Personalization.
  • You have 4+ years in a leadership role recruiting, developing, and retaining high performance software engineers and forming cohesive teams who enjoy working together.
  • You have Salesforce Certifications Architect/Platform Developer is preferred.
  • You have strong leadership and project management skills.
  • You have a high degree of self-motivation and excellent time management skills.
  • You have strong problem-solving skills
  • You have experience working with distributed onshore-offshore development models.
  • You have expertise in vendor negotiations, commercial and contract management experience with legal.
  • You have experience with vendor and stakeholder management.
  • You have extensive Salesforce product knowledge (Service Cloud, Community Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Personalization) and Salesforce development experience using Apex, Lightning Components / Lightning Web Components Framework, Visualforce, etc.
  • You have experience building Personalization use cases.
  • You have experience managing full-life cycle implementations of CRM solutions, including ownership of the technical solution, leadership of the overall technical team and partnership with business stakeholders.
  • You have strong experience with Agile software development principles.
  • You have strong understanding of Salesforce objects and relational databases.
  • You have experience with API builds and associate consumption patterns.
  • You are a strong communicator, whether written or verbal, practicing active listening. You can translate technical complexities into more common understood business concepts.
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration.
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
  • You seek the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.

$122,000 - $152,000 a year


A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$122,000 - CAD$152,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.


Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program and benefits that we offer.
