We are looking for highly ambitious Site Reliability DevOps Engineer to join our exciting journey in building next generation Integration Solutions. You will have opportunities to work on cutting edge technologies like Microservice based applications and containers.


THE ROLE

As a Site Reliability DevOps Engineer you will be working on eventing & messaging service called SAP Event Mesh built on event-driven-architecture as a foundational service connecting systems, apps, services and solutions across heterogenous landscapes in a loosely coupled distributed system setup, deployed and run on a highly scalable Kubernetes platform underneath.


You will be a member of a cross-functional scrum team and take part in all team activities including researching and prototyping, planning, designing, implementing, testing, deploying and operating cloud native services.

  • Contribute and gain experience in operating enterprise scale cloud applications with DevOps culture at heart.
  • Actively drive ITIL best practices to achieve operational excellence and efficiency and maximize uptime
  • Actively drive customer escalations, expert Live site handling, providing on-call support during off-business hours
  • Checking out new technologies and introducing them to others to promote innovation and create business value.
  • Continuously gain more insights into the product and also share the learning with the team.
  • Learn new technologies, tools and infuse the same in the team to enhance operations.
  • Continuously decrease mean time to recovery and meantime to detection.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a great team player ensuring seamless work with geographically distributed teams.
  • Engineering degree (BTech, MTech) in Computer Science or a related subject
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • 3+ years of relevant Industry & Domain experience as Site Reliability DevOps engineer
  • Familiarity with at least one cloud solution such as Amazon, Azure or Google
  • Experience with containers and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes or others)
  • Proficient in network level principles and troubleshooting like ssl, ssh etc.
  • Ability to confidently communicate with different layers of the management
  • Strong customer focus, service minded, and experience in handling customer escalations.


Mandatory Skills:

  • Certifications such as CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator), CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Application Developer),
  • Experience in creating and managing production scale Kubernetes clusters, Deep understanding of Kubernetes networking
  • Support our Kubernetes based projects to resolve critical and complex technical issues
  • Performing application deployments on Kubernetes cluster and troubleshooting
  • Securely managing kubernetes Cluster on at least one of the cloud providers (AWS, Azure or GCP cloud)
  • Kubernetes core concepts and Managing Kubernetes secrets
  • Ingress Controllers (Nginx, Istio etc) and cloud native load balancers
  • Managing Kubernetes storages (PV, PVC, Storage Classes, Provisioners)
  • Kubernetes Networking ( Services, Endpoints, DNS, LoadBalancers)
  • Managing resource quotas
  • Experience in setting up monitoring and alerting for Kubernetes cluster using open source monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging and operations tools such as ELK, EFK, Zabbix, Sysdig, Pingdom, Wireshark, DataDog, Nagios, NewRelic.
  • Strong working experience with Linux Systems Administration and Troubleshooting. Good knowledge of Linux internals.
