About The Role


KOHO is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic data team. If you possess a passion for delving into risk insights, crafting data models, and developing user-friendly data products, this role is tailored for you.


The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a team of 3 analytics engineers and report to the Analytics Engineering Team Lead. Acting as the key intermediary between the data and risk teams, you will gather requirements, prioritize requests, develop data products, and communicate insights effectively.


Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in advancing KOHO's analytics engineering mission: defining, implementing, and maintaining best practices for analytics warehouse management. This commitment aims to uphold high-integrity data standards while streamlining overhead maintenance.


What You’ll Be Doing


  • Engage with stakeholders, particularly the risk team, to cultivate strong relationships and prioritize their analytics requirements.
  • Utilize dbt for transforming, testing, deploying, and documenting risk data, adhering to software engineering best practices throughout the analytics code base.
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Sisense.
  • Contribute to process definition, tool development, and training initiatives to empower all (20+) data and business analysts within the organization.
  • Translate business needs into actionable requirements and solutions.
  • Identify and resolve variances in reports, striving for continuous improvement.
  • Document data models and provide training as necessary.


Who You Are


  • Possess 4+ years of experience in handling, manipulating, and documenting data.
  • Proficient in dbt.
  • Preferred background in risk & compliance.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data warehouse design, and dashboard creation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Enthusiastic about automating processes.

Compensation at KOHO is determined through various factors including but not limited to: comparable salary market data within Canada, technical skill assessment, a holistic view of previous work history, and internal pay equity with other KOHO team members.


Target Base Salary Range


$104,500 — $159,500 CAD
