The role: Project Control Manager


Who are you?


As an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of structured adsorbent bed filters & related rotary valve contactors and carbon capture process technology supplier, Svante is partnering with both world-class strategic supply chain partners and channel-to-market engineering/construction companies to deliver turn-key (EPC) carbon capture plant to customers with cost and schedule certainty.


As a Project Control Manager, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of company standards, planning, budgeting and scheduling techniques. You will schedule teams over several projects from the EPC project delivery, OEM product development and R&D departments. The position works alongside other members of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) network. You will be accountable to create and maintain a culture of project execution excellence to represent the core values of Svante to internal and external channel to market partners.


Responsibilities


  • Develop plans to achieve OEM product development, R&D program and EPC project delivery milestones including Scoping Studies, Pre-Feasibility Studies, Feasibility Studies, FEED Studies, and execution EPC Projects.
  • Focus on project performance and including planning, cost, schedule adherence, safety, and customer satisfaction including budget and contingency management.
  • Work closely with product managers, project managers, engineers, and construction managers to lead detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and fabrication.
  • Prepare project proposal or plan and determine time frame, risk mitigation, procedures for accomplishing work, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources during various phases of the project.
  • Ensure the development of a Project Execution Plan consisting of work plan, budget, and staffing plan for each phase of the project.
  • Ensure that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented and that change orders are approved prior to performance of the work.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance to schedulers and job teams for the resolution of difficult project control problems. Interfaces with clients, engineering & construction partners, attends regular meetings and gives statistical reports.
  • Analyze available manpower and resources, commodity charts, trends, schedule variations, schedule performance and schedule forecast.
  • Lead forensic schedule analysis to assess the impact(s) of changes from design, equipment delivery, and performance. Reports to company management and clients.
  • Apply vast knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction terminology and concepts to develop and maintain critic path logic networks; accumulate and access historical data for use in maintaining realistic future planning and forecasting.
  • Develop with Project/Product Manager corrective measures on project where KPI’s and Project Reviews show problem, in cooperation with the EPMO.


Qualifications


  • A minimum of 5 years of project and construction or OEM product development scheduling experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction & engineering and/or OEM product development technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units.
  • Proficiency in planning and scheduling using Primavera P6 in the Energy industry, and also enterprise-grade implementations of Microsoft Project Professional in an engineering services PMO context.
  • Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of projects (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance).
  • Proficiency in various project control software such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, Smart Sheet, Excel and other company-specific software.
  • Must be able to operate independently, meet deadlines and provide appropriate level of guidance for others to meet deadlines.
