Business Analyst

Job Description Summary

STEMCELL Technologies, Canada’s largest biotech company, is looking for a Business Analyst to join our Corporate Affairs team. In this role, you'll help launch and support non-IT projects, primarily related to facilities management, upkeep, and construction.


This is a fantastic opportunity to continue to develop and refine your analytical skills by eliciting business needs, and translating them into technical requirements. The role will help identify solutions that will meet the organization's goals, and will be instrumental in building and maintaining strong relationships within the business.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work extensively with stakeholders across multiple business groups to translate business needs into requirements, support in identifying effective business solutions 
  • Prepare insights for analysis to help identify the root cause of problems, deficiencies and/or gaps 
  • Apply understanding of business analysis and project management methodologies and techniques to ensure the successful implementation of all projects 
  • Present business insights and recommendations as per business requirement


Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience in business analysis for non-technical projects (i.e. operations, facilities management and construction)
  • Strong background in stakeholder management, requirements gathering, documentation, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail, critical thinking, problem solving, elicitation, and analytical skills
  • Experience balancing business needs, technology constraints, and end-user expectations 
  • Knowledge of project management fundamentals, and proficiency with Excel and Tableau would be a strong asset
